FAQ
What does it cost for you to dj my wedding?
Typically the cost for a wedding with us is $2,800. Sometimes the cost of booking Black Knight DJs for your wedding will vary depending on your venue and any extra special requirements your event may have. Our average cost can be higher than others, but we stand behind the quality of service and level of detail we provide. We pride ourselves on offering so much more than just audio entertainment. It is our pleasure to help act as a coordinator and professional emcee, as well as select music to orchestrate a fun and exciting event.
Do you talk on a mic, or work as an emcee?
There are a wide range of options when deciding how we use the mic. This type of detail is one of the many covered in our planning process. We have performed at many occasions and acted as an emcee or master of ceremonies. We are entirely capable of leading your event, or remaining silent. Many of our clients have simply required music or visual services. Our interaction with our clients and their guests is always left up to them.
How do I know who will be my DJ?
Trevor is our primary DJ for all of our events. While we do book multiple events and have other DJs, he is the only person who will be entertaining at your event. This will not change throughout our entire process, leading up to, or on the day of your event. We do have backup DJs available in case of an emergency. Other Staff/Team Members and employees of Black Knight DJs might be present to assist with coordinating your event, handling our equipment, and preparing your DJ to provide the best possible performance.
Do you do more than just weddings?
We offer first in class wedding services, but also so much more. Our quality audio and lighting equipment can be used in anything from parties and celebrations, to large events and presentations. Contact us for more detail.
Can you do our ceremony and reception?
We are equipped to provide services for all types of events including wedding receptions and ceremonies. This includes additional sound equipment for your ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. We have what you need from speakers to microphones and other gear. Our equipment is all professional grade, made to travel, and built to last. Including this extra equipment always included, allows us to have all of our equipment that could be needed for a variety of configurations and setups. We always bring in, setup, test and prepare our gear; all before your guests arrive. We never tear down or setup while guests are present, and that comes standard when you work with us.
CAN I PICK MY OWN MUSIC?
Part of the planning process you will experience with us will include music selection. The choices range from you choosing every individual song, all the way to us selecting all the tracks based on your guests and your answers to a few planning questions. There is a lot of availability to cater the music and feel that you envision. Or, if you wish to just have music mostly planned for you, we can work with that too. It’s completely up to you, but we have access to an enormous libary of music, and can interfaces with all of the modern music apps; Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube Music, even word and excel files are accepted.
How does payment work?
After you have been quoted for your event, we will move forward with scheduling and booking. A deposit is due to hold your date, and the balance of your payment is due the day prior to your event. Our policies cover more detail on deposits and payments.
What happens if you don’t show up? Or if the our event is cancelled?
Lots of people worry that their DJ will be late or not show up at their event. We have absolutely never done this, nor could we imagine it. Once we proceed with scheduling your event, a contract is exchanged that protects you and guarantees that we will provide the agreed services. We have a cancellation policy which protects us from last minute issues, but also takes care of our clients. We do have backup DJs available in case of an emergency. We always arrive as early as possible, even hours before your guests would arrive. This allows extra time to casually setup, and allows for emergencies and alterations.
